Arts Sanshou
Will learning martial arts be considered/appear to be good or bad on my resume`?
I’ve been learning martial arts (Kung Fu-Wing Chun/Sanshou) until now since before high school and right now my freshmen year in community college is ending.
I personally enjoyed learning it for self-defense, discipline, making friends and fitness. I’m just wondering if martial arts will be good or bad for my resume`, because I’ve wondered what will universities think of my extracurricular activities, or what my employer’s impression of me will be. My first guest on their impression would be something like they would percieve me as a joke or is violent, which I am not.
Does anyone knows what would employers or college admissions think of me if they noticed that I participated in martial arts according to my resume`? Did anyone ever experienced anything where they had an interview, or positive/negative criticisms from employers or college admissions?
Thanks in advanced. : )
In school if they know you are learning Martial Arts and they didn’t see bad attitude about you then it’s a good point because they will set you as an example for some about your behavior and the circle of activities being involve, the most important is you have no violent record.
If you are applying on job that need background on self defense then it’s a good point, I’m a Martial Artist and I still remember when my employer on my recent company interview me, because we are playing together before on same gym, he didn’t ask me about my work experience but instead he ask me about our dojo recent activities because he has been inactive for a while, good thing is I was being hired automatically, so I show to them that I am capable on the position they give to me, until now here I am working with them and such story was little funny because he is our General Manager, LOL.
Good luck
