egg whites? please help!?
Hi ladies
This is only the second month I’ve been off the pill so just getting to grips with this stuff. So I apologize in advance if it tmi!!
This afternoon when I wiped I had quite a large blob of clear, sticky and extremely stretchy mucus. Is this egg whites? And if so what does it really mean? Have I ovulated, about too? What? Can you get egg whites and not ovulate.
I have been using opk tests last nights test was very much border line. The surge line was fractionally lighter than the control line, I haven’t tested today yet. I usually test at about 8pm.
What do you ladies think? Hubby and I baby danced not last night but for the two nights previous, is this okay?

That sounds like you are at your MOST fertile. When you have got what you’ve described, that is peak cervical mucus, which is the perfect CM for sperm to swim/live in, so you should BD TONIGHT!
It doesn’t mean you’ve ovulated yet. You will know when you have ovulated, because your CM (cervical mucus) will go from being very abudant/stretchy/slippery to going the oppositive of being sticky/dry and not much of it. This suddent transition from what you’ve got now means that ovulation has happened.
That is why the OPK’s you tested last night were borderline. I bet if you test today it will be positive – meaning you have detected the LH surge. You will then be within 24-36 hours of ovulating. The LH surge doesn’t mean you are ovulating when you pick up the surge from an OPK – it means you will ovulate 1 to 1.5 days later.
The BD you did a few nights ago may result in pregnancy, but as sperm lives for 5 days maximum in optimum conditions (ie. in CM like you’ve got now!) it may be too far away to get pregnant.
I reckon if you BD TONIGHT, you will have a very good chance of conceiving! Sperm live up to 5 days average, while your egg only lives for up to 24 hours once it’s released so GET TO IT! Also, to be on the safe side, I would BD tomorrow and the next day too.
