What are the electronic parts for a 220V AC to 12V DC converter?
I have a step-down transformer which is a 220V AC to 12V AC/3A. I want to convert the 12V AC to 12V DC, but I don’t know what kind of electronic parts I should use. I kept searching on google for some answers but I wasn’t satisfied with the results. It’s not a big problem, it’s just that I don’t know.
A 3 or 5 amp bridge rectifier will get you DC of about 9 to 11 volts with lots of ripple. A large capacitor, such as 100,000µF 15 or 20 volts, connected directly across the DC output, will get you about 13-15 volts DC, depending on current.
