Exerciser Improves Hand

I’m 15, playing guitar, tiniest hands in the WORLD?

Well, I’m actually learning spanish guitar and as you know a lot of the notes are many frets apart and the barre chords are regularly incorporated into the most famous compositions. Let me tell you, playing a barre chord on a nylon string is much easier than steel string but still extremely difficult. Even with the help of a GripMaster Finger Exerciser. I could do half barre chords and such and sometimes I can do clear, FULL barre chords but ultimately have trouble.

My hands are the smallest hands you ever saw and so I was wondering if there are any tips for how to improve my barre chords with such small fingers and any warm-ups I could do to help me push all 6 strings down.

Also, do you think it is possible for me to ever become a very good guitarist with such small hands? WIll it be possible for me to improve my skills and be able to play more difficult pieces in the future? I have a full size nylon string btw, but it’s very thin and small and just perfect for me. (I’m 5′1).

well that’s a tough one. Being 6′1″ I don’t have that problem.

I would say you CAN learn to do it. If you can make a bar chord sometimes, you can do it all the time. If it just hurts too much, well, it comes down to how much you want it. Once you do lots of em, your hand will get used to it and it won’t hurt your fingers as much.

As far as having to stretch to get to other frets, I guess you’re just gonna have to be quicker than most everyone else. They do make smaller sized guitars. You may have to pay a bit to get one that still sounds good though….
