dark viewfinder and wrong grid nikon d3000?
ok when i look through the viewfinder to take a photo it looks really dark even though i am in a bright light setting it kinda looks like a shadow is being cast over my camera but there is no shadow (could this be internal) also when i look through the viewfinder i see a green grid not the typical black circle with focus points
i charged the battery sevrall times and the darkness hasnt changed
Sounds like the lens is stuck in the stop-down position. When I was shopping for a DSLR at Best Buy a few months ago, they had a D90 on display that had that problem. The clerk was really irritated with me when I insisted that he find the tool that allowed him to disconnect the security cord so that we could remove the lens to confirm what we suspected to be the cause of the problem.
First thing to check: the battery. I think you’ve already done that.
Second thing: is the camera in “M” mode? If so, try shifting it to one of the automatic modes IF the problem persists, then you may need to send it in for repair..
