Jump Rope Cardio
Is using a jump rope for cardio bad for someone who is very overweight?
Well I way about 250lbs. and I was talking with someone about my diet and how i would like to incorporate some cardio. I thought jumping rope would be a great way to get some cardio and to lose more weight. But the person I was speaking with told me it may be too hard on my knees being at the weight I’am at, is this true?
plus is using the jump rope for 30minutes a day for three days a week sufficient enough. Or would i Have to change things up every now and then?
The person you were talking to is right. Exercises like jumping rope and running can be really hard on your knees if you have a lot of excess weight. Just try it out and see. If it’s too much for your joints, you can start out with another, less strenuous activity, such as swimming, walking or weight lifting.
