LEG PROTECTION for AT HOME BOXING/KICKBOXING ON A 100LB HEAVY BAG WHAT SHOULD I GET?
hello, i recently bought a boxing bag which can also be used as a kickboxing bag. now i want to use it to train on the strength of the kicks and etc. but i want to know what should i buy for good protection to make sure i dont break anything. i already have hand protection but i need leg protection links and where to get the lef protection is very much welcomed.
If you’re kicking in karate/taekwondo style where you’re using the instep I would greatly advise shin and instep protectors, get the kind with a slim profile and extra padding in the middle (I think those are called pro style), the larger kind are just needlessly bulky, shift to either side much more, and still provide much less protection.
If you’re practicing more of a Thai style kick where you’re connecting with the shin, then it’s not really necessary to use extra protection on the bag but you could just to avoid some pain before you become accustomed to it. Just be sure to not kick with the instep as many novices do.
