The Volkswagen Passat and Passat Wheel Covers have been a long time favorite when it comes to families who are looking for more luxury and style in a midsize family sedan or wagon. For a lot of people – maybe even for you – the Passat is the car that fills the gap that exists between “normal”, humdrum family cars and the financially out-of-reach luxury brands.
It’s always best to have something in the middle, right?
When it comes to the car and the Passat Wheel Covers that are on it, you’ll soon hear that it’s usually known as a gateway car for German luxury car fans who can’t really afford one of the country’s premium nameplates vehicles; which is completely fine considering the economy is at it’s worst right now. The Volkswagen Passat actually has enough in its favor to warrant consideration even from those people who have “deeper pockets” .. do you know what I mean?
There’s going to be an all-new fourth generation passat that’s going to be released in 2012. You can best believe that the Passat Wheel Covers on the 2012 models are going to be extremely nice. Both Volkswagen manufacturers and critics are saying that this Passat is going to be the biggest Passat yet and will be at a price that’s relatively lower than before – this is to provide a better competition with different mainstream family sedans.
The third generation Passat, the one that was released from 2006-2010, was bigger than the car that it replaced and more expensive because it had better features and Volkswagen was trying to move up its class. The ideal engine that came on the Passat was a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that was capable of producing 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque .. a lot of numbers, right?
The six-speed manual transmission was also standard and the automatic transmission was optional. From the years of 2006-2008, there was a narrow-angle V6 (known as the VR6) that was optional on the car. This was the engine that was able to release 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque; you even had the option of including it with all-wheel drive in the 3.6 4Motion trim.
If you got the V6, then the automatic transmission came standard.
In the beginning, there were four trim levels that you can choose from: Value Edition, 2.0T, 3.6 and 3.6 4Motion. Even though the cheapest model had those heavy steel wheels with the good looking Passat Wheel Covers on it, it had those amazing features like a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an auxiliary audio jack, and high-quality leatherette vinyl upholstery. The more expensive trims had things like adaptive xenon headlights, automatic dual-zone climate control and 12-way power front seats – yeah, it’s a big difference.
If you were to research and base your decisions off the road tests, then you won’t be disappointed. There were good things said about the high quality of its fit and finish to the engaging yet fuel-efficient performance of the turbocharged engine. It was also praised for the comfort of the ride .. and I think that’s one of the main things when it comes to buying a new car.
I think we can both conclude that it’s a pretty good car.
