Magnetic Therapy Knee
I had ACL surgery a few years ago and my leg is still smaller then my other leg.?
I am a bodybuilder and this is a huge disadvantage for me. Not only that but my knee still gives me pain occasionally especially after working out!
After i had surgery i tried to get back into things to quickly i think and am worried i permanently damaged my knee!
I want to start running and swimming again but i am worried that will make my joints lose and make the pain even worse when I try and lift weights.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Yoga? Cortisone shots?
Has anyone had this experience and gotten help?
I tried acupuncture and magnetic therapy for a while and that helps with the pain but not with the strength in my knee.
ACL or anterior cruciate ligament surgery is the replacement of the ligament that is attached from the front of the top of your shin bone (tibia) to the back middle underside of your leg bone (femur). The purpose of replacing it is to re-establish stability to the knee joint caused by a severe twisting injury to the ligament. Ligaments can take quite a while to heal as there is no blood supply.
You did not say why you think you injured your knee. Chances are if your knee is not unstable it is fine. The pain may be caused by scar tissue after your operation. if your are having trouble with swelling.
Cortisone can help with that, but you didn’t say anything about that. Aspirin or ibuprofen can help with pain.
From your description if your operated leg is smaller than your non operated leg it is because you didn’t have use of it for awhile and will need to build the muscles back up. Good luck.
