How can I stress the tension of the muscle (not so much the fatigue,but rather the tension) when I workout?
A friend told me:you’ve got to stress the tension of that muscle (not so much the fatigue, but rather the tension). What does that mean?
How can I do that while I exercise?
Focus more on the negative part of the weight movement, not the positive (curl up), and do slow negatives (weight back to start position).
Say you are doing barbell curls. From the start position, bring the weight up as you would normally (maybe 2-3 secs) but don’t just relax as you bring the weight back down and let gravity do the work. Keep the muscles tensed and slowly lower the weight, keeping it a controlled movement. Take about 7-8 seconds for the negative.
When you focus on the negatives, you’ll feel the difference.
