craftsman snow thrower shuts off on load – less noise run then ususal?
mine is 2 stage just about 2 yr old snow thrower
it turns itself off when chute gets clogged, and it gets clogged even on 2 in snow because i feel it has lost its power somehow. even in idel it runs with very little noise as normal snow thrower or how it used to do last year.
i just changed Oil and Fuel this season. When i started first time this season – i noticed some junk flying out of exaust but that’s about it – didnt notice anything after that.
Any advice please?
Anwer to first respondent: Honestly not sure, i do see occassional mice around but wouldnt that cause some sort of smell if its dead inside???
after reading somewhere online – i am thinking about cleaning carburator jet, what do you guys say?
d had a good point but not from mice. Your muffler could be rusted inside and if a baffle came loose it could plug the exhaust. This would cause power loss and a change in the sound. Most likely it is the carburetor. The best way to clean them is to remove it, take it apart, soak it in a quality carb cleaner and put it together with a rebuild kit. If you remove it, make sure you understand how the linkage and springs attach to it. A digital photo before you start can save a lot of time during assembly.
