Resistance Exercise Counter

So how much is too much?

IAfter my first child was born I dropped to 105lbs and never had a weight issue. Second time around, very different story! I got fat. For 3 years.

So. I set myself a goal to lose about 22lbs in 3 months. I’ve lost 18. The trouble is now I wonder if I’m getting too obsessed with it. I run most days, I do resistance training most days and I’m sure I do too many ab exercises (my stomach is starting to “stick out” more because I still have a layer of fat on top of the new muscle).. But it seems to be counter-productive because I can’t get rid of the last few pounds (and I do need to lose them – my target weight is well within a healthy BMI). I eat about 1200-1800 calories a day but I always think about what I’m eating, how much, how much exercise I need to do. If I have a few spare minutes I do push ups or crunches. I don’t even feel hungry anymore, I seem to have lost the ability.

So. What should I do? Do I back off a bit? Am I undoing my good work? Can I lose the last pounds?

You dont mention how far you are running or how much resistance training you are doing, but it sounds like you should probably adjust you habits slightly.
For a start, you calorie intake seems very low for someone who is training every day; given that running for an hour will burn off the best part of 1000 calories chances are you are not getting enough.
If you are worried that your abs are sticking out a bit sure avoid doing resistance work on them; this will buildmuscle which will bulk out your midriff. Instead increase the number of sittups you do

It does sound like you are becoming slightly obsessed though; you should only do resistance work every other day, in order to give your muscles a chance to recoup.
Give yourself a bit of abreak enjoy feeling fit, and try not to fixate on getting the perfect flat stomach
