Set Size
How do you set the size for a picture in photoshop to print it in a 8×10? or 4×7 or 5×7?
Ok I design pictures but when I want to go print them they don’t fit onto the picture and they come out with white bars either around them or on the top and bottom of the picture. I want to know how to set my canvas properly on photoshop so this doesn’t happen when I got to print them.
You need to always start with the right sized document. Create a new document. Under width and height, set 8 x 10 (or whatever) inches (not pixels or cm) then set your dpi to whatever is appropriate for your printer (150/200/300/?).
Be aware that 8×10, 4×7 and 5×7 are all different aspect ratios. So if you size to one of those proportions, the other sizes WILL end up printing with the white bars.
