what are the best track shoes for running and jumping?
i’m in 8th grade and decided to do track. and i need to find some track shoes that are good for both running, and jumping.
junior high track and field are usually not too competitive so you can usually get by with a good running shoe from your local sports store. For the best shoe, you will want track spikes which are very light running shoes with various designs for different events.
for LONG DISTANCE events(1600m/1mile and 3200m/2mile) you will want heavier spikes with lots of cushioning on the heel.
MIDDLE DISTANCE spikes(400m-800m) are recommended for beginners and have moderate cushioning on the heel.
SHORT DISTANCE runners(100m,200m,400m) definitely should go with spikes with no heel. They force you on your toes so you run hard and quick.
for JUMPING events, you should probably use middle distance spikes.
