Weighted Weight Vest
Will I get lead poisoning if I use fishing weights in my weight vest?
Im making a vest with many pockets. I want to put varing weights of fishing weights in all the pockets to weigh it down. Im wondering if fishing weights are a bad idea. When im sweating, will the lead from the weights get into my body and give me lead poisoning? If it matters, Ill be wearing the vest overtop of a Tshirt. WOuld it help to put the weights in ziplock bags?
I don’t actually know if the weights would pose a problem when used in the manner you want to use them for. But bear in mind a few years ago there was talk of outlawing the use of lead in fishing weights because long term exposure to the lead was a carcinogenic. I don’t know if the way in which you would be using them would affect you or not. I think it would be better to err on the safe side.
